Abbot Kinney Boulevard is one of LA's hippest areas for unique shopping, featuring home-grown artists and designers in a mix of modern chic and old-school vintage. The shops lining the street — many of which eat, sleep and breathe the Abbot Kinney vibe — sell top-of-the-line artwork, furniture, jewelry and clothing. Named for the mastermind behind the Venice canals, this legendary street runs through the heart of Venice. The shopping is located between Main Street and North Venice Boulevard. Home décor shops, handmade furniture stores, vintage clothing sellers, surf shops, perfume shops and bookstores make this area as eclectic as any in Los Angeles. A former hangout for artist types and other hipsters, the area maintains a bit of an underground vibe, while catering to a clientele that’s in the know yet still a few tax brackets removed from the starving artist stage. If you're looking for the top stores to shop on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, search no more. Here are a few stores that you won't want to miss.

What to Get: If you’re in the market for gifts, pick one of the statues from Ananda’s collection. Miniature Buddhas are always popular.

This hip gallery is what Abbot Kinney is all about. The staff has a nonchalant way of introducing its products — one-of-a-kind jewelry, edgy paintings, off-kilter sculptures — without coming across as snooty. In addition, many of LA’s hottest artists have been represented here. Richard Patterson, Thomas Mann and Graceann Warn are just a few examples.
What to Get: Watchcraft’s timepieces, which are made with distressed and oxidized silver, brass and other metals.

It wouldn’t be Venice without some quirks, and this hip shop gladly obliges. A mix of furniture, surfboards, surfing tees, books and paintings make up the majority of the store, which was inspired by the free spirit of both the ocean and t
